About

SPEAKING

"No matter where you go - there you are." - Buckaroo Banzai

As a results focused motivational speaker, I do more than simply share motivational stories, funny insights and cutting-edge information. I motivate audiences to be fearless. Not in the sense of taking unnecessary risks or acting out of character, but fearless in its truest sense; to focus on a goal clearly, strategise effectively, communicate persuasively and act decisively when results are important and outcomes matter. I have a hands-on approach that combines cutting edge research, real world applications and classic martial art strategies to address our most difficult personal, professional and organisational challenges.

COACHING

The art of betting on yourself.

As a peak-performance coach, I help individuals and organisations from all backgrounds and industries successfully achieve new goals - as they address a broad range of professional, personal and interpersonal challenges and opportunities. I am most interested in understanding the endless of ways our thoughts, our emotions, our behaviour and our relationships impact our performance, our success and our health.

PERSONAL

I work with public and private organisations, businesses, athletes and teams, health agencies, schools, and individuals on a myriad of topics related to performance, resilience, leadership, conflict, safety and interpersonal synergy. I consult with athletes, coaches and sports teams to sharpen mental skills, refine strategies, and improve competitive outcomes.

As a licensed psychotherapist, performance coach for sport and business, author, senior university lecturer, and lifelong veteran of traditional Martial-arts training, I have a unique background to draw on. I try to blend this experience together, combined with cutting edge research - to create dynamic content - and pragmatic solutions - for all of the speaking, coaching, and consulting clients I work with.

I currently hold a Senior Lecturer position in Health and Sport Science, and the Masters of Health Science, at the Eastern Institute of Technology in New Zealand. Prior to this, I was a Senior Lecturer in Humanities at the University of California, Riverside (UCR), where I served as Director of Martial Arts in Athletics, and held teaching positions across Psychology, Honours, the Graduate School of Education, Physical Education, and was twice recipient of the University Distinguished Teaching award.
